Disable and turn off automatic Windows updates

Disabling Windows updates can be risky, as updates often include important security fixes and performance improvements. It is generally recommended to keep your operating system and applications up to date in order to protect against security vulnerabilities and improve the stability and performance of your system.

That being said, if you still want to disable Windows updates, you can do so using the following steps:

1. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog.

2. Type “services.msc” and press Enter to open the Services manager.

3. Scroll down the list of services and find the “Windows Update” service.

4. Right-click on the “Windows Update” service and select “Properties”.

5. In the Properties window, go to the “General” tab.

6. Under the “Startup type” dropdown, select “Disabled”.

Click “Apply” and then “OK” to save the changes.

After following these steps, the Windows Update service will be disabled and your computer will no longer receive updates automatically. You can still manually check for and install updates by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

It is important to note that disabling Windows updates can leave your system vulnerable to security threats and may cause other issues. It is generally recommended to keep your system up to date.
